MANILA, Philippines -- After rigorous screening, the Binibining Pilipinas organization has narrowed down the list to 50 candidates who will vie for the title in 50th edition of the national pageant in April.

Out of some 150 women who auditioned, the screening committee trimmed the number of hopefuls to 70.

On Thursday in Quezon City, 20 more were cut, leading to the final line-up of candidates who will compete for the Binibining Pilipinas-Universe crown on April 14.

Two more titles -- Bb. Pilipinas-International and Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism Queen International -- will be awarded at the coronation night.

Screening the candidates on Thursday night were Binibining Pilipinas pageant organizer Stella Marquez-Araneta, and Filipina Miss Universe runners-up Venjus Raj, Shamcey Supsup and Janine Tugonon, among others.

Included in the 50 who will compete at the 50th Binibining Pilipinas pageant are the daughter of actor Christopher de Leon, Maria Angelica; ABS-CBN Star Magic talent Pia Wurtzbach; reigning Miss Mandaluyong Charmaine Elima; TV host Joanna Cindy Miranda; and Viva talent Imelda Schweighart.
