Sarah-John Lloyd film passes 'Praybeyt Benjamin'

MANILA – The final installment in the series of romantic-comedy movies starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo is now officially the second highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
As of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, “It Takes a Man and a Woman” has already earned P345 million in ticket sales. The movie’s total earnings was disclosed to ABS-CBNnews.com by Star Cinema’s PR executive Roxy Liquigan.
Jointly produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films, the romantic-comedy flick has beaten the record of Vice Ganda’s "The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin," which earned P331 million during its theatrical run in 2011.
“It Takes a Man and a Woman” is now second in terms of total box-office earnings after "Sisterakas," which featured the trio of Vice Ganda, Kris Aquino and Ai Ai delas Alas as lead stars.
Released as an entry to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), "Sisterakas" earned P391 million during its run in cinemas nationwide, making it the all-time highest grossing Filipino film.
However, “It Takes a Man and a Woman” is now the biggest-earning non-MMFF local movie.
